Bringing Dundee's vintage buses back home

National Express Dundee has very generously agreed to donate Daimler CVG6 ETS 964 (fleet number 184) to the Taybus Vintage Vehicle Society. This vehicle is currently on display at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum at Lathalmond.

ETS 964 bus entered service with Dundee Corporation on 27 November 1955 and was withdrawn in September 1977. During the mid-1990s this bus underwent a full restoration by a group of Tayside Public Transport employees and it was this that led to the formation of the Taybus Vintage Vehicle Society in 1995. It is hoped to get this vehicle back on the road as soon as possible.

In related news the Dundee Museum of Transport committee has been in touch with Dundee City Council to try to secure the return of Dundee Corporation bus Daimler CVD6DD AYJ 379 (fleet number 127). This bus entered service in 1951 and was retained for preservation in 1975. This vehicle is currently in storage at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum at Lathalmond.
